Three police personnel and two Maoists were killed in a gun-battle between security personnel and ultras in dense forests of Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district on Sunday, police said.
Three Naxals, including two women, were on Saturday gunned down by security forces at two different places in Chhattisgarh's insurgency-hit Bastar division, taking the total number of ultras killed in separate gun-battles in the region this month to 21.
The naxals also blew up the communication tower, cutting off the link between Jashpur district, which borders Jharkhand, and other areas.
The explosion took place in a hilly area in Bacheli in Dantewada when the personnel were returning to their camp after purchasing groceries from market.
